We are currently recruiting for a Mechanical Assistant, to join the team at our Engineering client, based in Nottinghamshire.
They are a well-established and market leading engineering contractor, with strong links to the water and nuclear industries.
This role is field based and will cover the South East region
This is a permanent vacancy. You will be a direct employee, from day one.

The Role –Mechanical Assistant
As a Mechanical Assistant, you will be responsible for conducting mechanical operations to the highest possible standard of quality, efficiency and with minimal wastage and to ensure a provision of a safe working environment for all colleagues.
- General Mechanical duties
- Installation of mechanical equipment such as motors, gearboxes, bearings
- Fitting of steel support systems
- Fault finding on mechanical equipment.
- May be required to undertake other duties such as assisting an Electrician or Civil engineers
- Ensure all tasks are prepared for delivery/audit action if necessary.
- Ensure to only operate equipment that is calibrated, in test and in good operating order and ensure the operative is trained.
- On advice from line management, contribute to all quality audits and assist in resolution of issues with product, processes, and systems.
- Adhere to Company quality procedures, standards, and specifications.
- Work with Team Leaders to discharge contract obligations.
- Advise Line Management in a timely manner where time related changes are required.

- Comply with company Health and Safety policies, procedures and codes of practice.

Must have:
- Mechanical apprenticeship or level 3 Mechanical qualification as minimum.
- Have a proven background in the water industry or gas/oil
- Mechanical knowledge
- Confined Space training (Current)
- CSCS Card holder
Desirable:
- Qualified in Lifting operations (CPCS)
- First Aid Trained
- Health and Safety trained (IOSH)
